Special Town Board Meeting

Minutes

Chairman Jeff Karbash called the Special Meeting to order at 6:00pm. Present: Karbash, Supervisors Steve Wade, Tom Kraus, Dave Overbeek. Absent: Supervisor Susan Miller. The Pledge of Allegiance was recited.

Generator Purchase – Supervisor Overbeek said he was sorry to call a special meeting, but his research re pricing and availablility of generators resulted in discovering that they were very scarce, with not much variation in prices. He had received a proposal from Pilling Electric Service near Platteville, for a 27 HW PTO generator with trailer and shaft for $6,505.00 if we pick it up, more if delivered. Other vendors talk about waits of 6 months or more. The Equipment Committee had recommended a 25KW unit, but those are not manufactured any more – this unit is manufactured by a very reputable 100 year old company, using Square D parts made in their shop. Committee Chairman Jim Hoover found a cheaper model, but don=t know who made it. Overbeek would rather buy from a dealer, with the unit manufactured in the U.S. Pilling Electric has another buyer, and needs to know by this evening if we want this one. After discussion, Overbeek Moved to purchase the generator with trainer and shaft from Pilling Electric at $6,505. Second by Wade, passed unanimously.

Overbeek noted he will contact electricians re installation and bring the information to the July 12 Board meeting.

Motion to adjourn by Overbeek, Second by Wade, passed unanimously.
