Board of Supervisors Meeting

Tuesday, February 9, 2021

Minutes

Chairman Jeff Karbash called the meeting to order at 7:00pm. Present: Karbash, Supervisors Miller, Overbeek, Behrens, Kraus. The Pledge of Allegiance was recited.

Motion to Approve the Agenda by Overbeek, Second by Kraus, passed unanimously. Motion to approve the Minutes by Miller, Second by Kraus, passed unanimously.

Treasurer’s Report – Clerk Ceas stated it was not available because Treasurer Seaver had not received bank statements yet.  Motion to Table by Karbash, Second by Overbeek, passed unanimously.

Board Reports

Karbash – not much – several messages from Whitewater Lake residents re Lake Lorraine. Miller – nothing

Overbeek – very quiet – lot of snow, but no complaints. Have had 4 accidents since we switched fire departments, one at County A & Rock/Walworth County Line, with 11 minute response; under 7 minutes to the gravel pit; several resuce calls to back up Medix.  Will ask them for a monthly report.

Behrens – nothing

Kraus – nothing

McManaway – Karbash noted they are doing a good job on the snowy roads.  McManaway – nothing else to report.

Delavan/Darien School District – emailed their monthly report. Public Comment – None

Operator Licenses: Motion by Kraus, Second by Overbeek, to approve licenses for Christiane M West, Sponsored by Snug Lake Harbor: Jeffery D Hefty and Cassidy C Winkler, sponsored by Turtle Lake Tap & Grill; Kathleen A BaulingDashner, sponsored by Badger Bob’s; passed unanimously.

Firearms Sign at Town Hall Door – Greg Scott distributed his reasons for removal of the sign, reported he had spoken to several other Towns, was not happy about how the decision was made in October 2020.  Motion by Overbeek to rescind the previous

Resolution and remove the sign.  Second by Kraus, passed with Miller abstaining.

WI DNR Chemical Treatment Permit for Lake Lorraine – Clerk explained this is a request from Lake Lorraine Restoration Association for pre-approval to submit application and payment to the DNR for the weed treatment that is done each year. Motion by approve by Miller, Second by Behrens, passed unanimously.

County Hazards Mitigation Plan MOU (Memo of Understanding) – Miller reported she had contacted County Rep Jason Rowland about this.  Clerk noted it is a renewal of a previous agreement, that our participation allows us to be eligible for any FEMA funding if necessary to alleviate future weather-related or other hazardous incidents. Motion by Overbeek appoint Miller as our Liaison, Second by Behrens, passed unanimously. Motion to approve the MOU by Miller, Second by Behrens, passed unanimously.

Complaints – None

Payment of Bills – Motion to approve by Kraus, Second by Overbeek, passed unanimously. Motion to Adjourn by Kraus, Second by Behrens, passed unanimously.
